I began coming to Lake Burton in 1975 when I was a student at the University of Georgia. I married my husband, Tom, in 1979 and began visiting my in-law's home on Lake Burton that they bought in 1968. In 1980 I opened a ladies clothing store called Fine Feathers in the Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody. It quickly became a success and I opened my second store in Buckhead.
